Before the game 'Metal Gear Solid' is released on the Playstation, most action games have included shooting and killing as a main element of the game and story. It was Metal Gear Solid which introduced a new element for most popular action games: stealth to the gaming world and along with an incredible story, emotional music, and stunning graphics fans quickly applauded the game.

Graphics

Metal Gear Solid is one of the games released during the Fifth Generation of the Video Game History, compared to nowadays the graphics would have been sucked, however this game featured detailed graphics, which compared to other games released at the time, the polygons are hardly visible, it gives you the feeling of taking place of the main character of the game. For example, the game takes place in Alaska , and it gives you the cold feeling of the snow.

Sounds

Metal Gear Solid actually didn't feature a lot of music; this is not a bad thing, however. The music is so flexible that you can use it in different scenes, and it suits the game with the voice acting, in some occasion, the radar is not visible, you can actually hear the enemies, so you can estimate their location.

Plot

One of the reasons of the success of the Metal Gear Solid series is the dramatic story. Solid Snake, who is cloned from the legendary Big Boss, must infiltrate a nuclear weapons disposal facility, which is taken over by terrorist, but they are no normal terrorist, instead they are genetically enhanced for battle. Inside the disposal facility, the main problem ¡V Metal Gear and the brother of the main character ¡V Liquid Snake awaits. Throughout the story there will be characters each have their own stories which forms a main connection with the game.

Gameplay

The game provided simple, yet effective controls. There are only run, punch, crawl, flat, and knock on the wall, which can be used to distract guards. A punch-punch-kick combo, can be used to knock off enemies, providing time for you to escape. There are also useful items to help throughout the game, night vision, thermal goggles and scope, this game is the first game that really considered what items are needed in order to infiltrate a secret base.

This masterpiece game is a must-have since it got amazing story and gameplay, it's one of the best Playstation games, the game worth a 8.5/10, and will continue to live in gamers' hearts as a legend.
