Customize allows you to take a weapon, and using a stone make that weapon stronger. This comes into play late in the game when you need to customize weapons due to the fact that the ones in stores are inferior. Obviously the higher the level the more likely you are to suceed, but if you have the Magical Rasp than the chances increase even more. Also the difficulty is also determined by the strength of the weapon you are shooting for.
