Dagger's
Side Quest |
First,
form a party with Dagger and visit Lani
who is standing on Eiko's back porch.
When you arrive Lani will run away. Exit
the village and return with anyone except
Dagger or Amarant and talk to Lani twice.
Read the message and go to the Eidolon
Wall. Walk right from the entrance around
the wall until you return to the entrance.
Move just past the "!" until
you hear a chime. Then walk counterclockwise
back to the entrance, just past the "!"
again. Continue to do this 9 times, going
back and forth, making sure you hear the
chime each time. On the ninth round, your
HP/MP will be recovered and all status
abnormalities removed. This isn't what
you wanted? Keep reading.
Now
read the paintings. Read all of them.
There is no order in which you must
read them as long as you get to all
of them.. A whole slew of extra messages
appear this time. At the end, go to
the Ifrit drawing and look for an extra
message, revealing Dagger's true name.
If
you would rather know now keep reading,
if you would like to figure out her
name for yourself please stop now.
Dagger's
true name is Sarah. |
Friendly
Monsters |
Throughout
the game you can encounter enemies that
are friendly and wont attack unless provoked.
These enemies are called, "friendly
monsters." They need a certain jewel
from you and it pays off for you to give
them what they want. If you do recognize
their demands, you will receive a lot
of AP and an item to boot. The main reason
for this side quest is that if you satisfy
all 8 friendly monsters and find the friendly
yan and give him what he wants, you'll
have the ability to use physical attacks
on Ozma(Remarked by some as the hardest
enemy in the game).
There
is a catch, however. You must find these
creatures in the order listed below.
If you notice further down in the list,
a specific jewel is found by pleasing
a friendly monster and is needed to
appease the next friendly monster you
encounter. Another catch is that some
of these monsters are in out of the
way locations and in very dangerous
areas. The friendly yan can be found
on Vile Island but be careful because
there are regular yans there as well
that aren't so nice.

Racing
Hippaul Side Quest |
You
can only play this side quest in the beginning
of Disc 3 in Alexandria. Go to the main
street and you will see Hippaul standing
with his mother. Talk to Hippaul's mother
and she will ask you to race with him
for exercise.
To race with him, tap circle and square
one after the other as fast as you can
and try to reach the end of the street
before Hippaul. Everytime you win one
race, his level will increase by one.
For every ten levels you raise Hippaul
to, his mother will give you a card as
a prize. When you reach Level 70, you
will gain new cards every level you raise
Hippaul until Level 80 when you will receive
the Athele Queen Key Item and you will
not receive anymore prizes. You can raise
him up to Level 100 but you will receive
nothing for your efforts. Below is a table

Jump
Rope Sidequest |
The
Jump Rope sidequest is one of the earliest
sidequest's available in Final Fantasy
IX. When you are in control of Vivi in
Alexandria, go to the Town Square and
you will see three girls playing jump
rope towards the right hand side. Walk
up to them and ask to play and they will
let you.
The object of the game is to hit X whenever
the ! symbol appears over Vivi's head.
This will cause him to jump and miss being
tripped up. The speed rises at 20 jumps,
50 jumps, and once more at 100 jumps.
At 200 jumps, the speed decreases but
the timing is different. Finally, at 300
jumps the speed and timing stops changing.
At 1000 jumps, you will get the last and
best reward, the King of Jump Rope Key
Item. If you missed the girls at Disc
1, go to Alexandria at the beginning of
Disc 3 and make your way into the Moogle
Tower, that's where they are now, accompanied
by Moogles who keep records of your jumps.

Mognet
Central |
On
your way through Esto Gaza to Mount
Gulug, delivering a letter to Mogrika
the moogle causes her to indicate that
Mognet is shutting down because of an
accident. From this point on, most of
the moogles will not have any letters
to deliver and won't ask you to deliver
any due to problems at the home office,
Mognet Central. You can reach Mognet
Central with a light-blue chocobo (REEF
chocobo) on Disc 3. On the east side
of this island, you can find a crack
in the mountain. Feed Choco a Dead Pepper
to make him open the crack, revealing
Mognet Central. Inside, the moogle Artemicion
confesses that he used too much of a
certain "thing" to make his fur glossy,
and there wasn't enough left to use
on the machine that keeps Mognet running.
Leave Mognet Central and travel south
to Alexandria. Then speak to Kupo at
the bell tower ruins, and he'll give
you a letter to Atla.
Thus
begins a chain of letters that MUST
be delivered from moogle to moogle in
order to revive the Mognet. Although
the moogles tell you which moogle to
deliver to, they don't mention where
that moogle is located! Each time you
deliver a letter during this sequence,
the moogles give you Kupo Nuts if you
don't already have one in your Key Items
inventory. Return to the moogle family
at Gizamaluke's Grotto each time you
get one, and exchange each Kupo Nut
for an item. By the time you're through,
there should be four or five new little
moogles running around! Atla is the
moogle at Burmecia. Return there now
and deliver the letter. Atla wants you
to take a letter to Mogryo, the moogle
standing outside the chocobo farm at
the Black Mage Village. Mogryo has a
letter for Kumool. Return to Ipsen's
Castle and exchange letters with Kumool
in the courtyard. You receive a letter
for Mois, the moogle from the Ice Cavern,
in return. However, the Ice Cavern is
now blocked by roots that have grown
over each entrance. Mois has moved to
Qu's Marsh on the Mist Continent, and
now stands outside the former entrance
to Fossil Roo. Make sure you have Quina
in your party, or else you won't have
access to Fossil Roo. Mois has a letter
for Noggy, the moogle at Daguerreo.
Noggy, in turn, sends you back to Kupo
in Alexandria with a final letter. When
Kupo reads the letter, you'll notice
that it says someone in Alexandria has
the item needed. Kupo isn't any help,
but we'll save you the trouble! Talk
to Ruby in the Alexandria Mini-Theater,
and she immediately hands over some
of her hair gel, otherwise known as
Superslick. Return to Mognet Central
and turn over the item to Artemicion.
The Mognet gets back to business, and
you receive a Protect Ring for helping
restore Mognet.

After

u that if you bring him coffee you will
recive rewards heres a list of how to
get them and what you will recieve
Here
are the locations of the three coffees:

the Chocobo Forest |
Kirman
Coffee |
On
Eiko's back porch in Madain

Burman
Coffee |
This
one is a little harder to get,
however, so keep reading! |
To
get the Burman Coffee, Zidane must leave
Treno during the card tournament and
head through South Gate to Dali. The
mayor is not at home at this time, so
search his house for his key. When you
enter his house, Zidane spots the mayor's
son napping on the sofa in the middle
of the room. If Zidane moves too hastily,
he'll awaken the boy and have to start
the search over again.
Start by searching the mayor's desk.
You will find the Mini-Brahne here.
Search the desk two more times until
the boy says "Zzzz." Move
to the stove and search it to find the
Mayor's Key and then leave. Go to the
locked door in the windmill and use
the key to open it. Move around the
chocobo pen to the right side, where
a hidden treasure chest contains 30,000
Gil. Check the same chest again to find
the Burman Coffee.
Now
return to Observatory Mountain and give
the three coffees to Morrid. He promises
to send you the Mini-Prima Vista model
ship. The next time you're in Lindblum,
return to the Tantalus hideout to find
it sitting on the floor near the bed.
Again,
you must get the Burman Coffee during
the card tournament in Treno. Otherwise,
it will be too late. You can visit Morrid
to complete the side quest any time
before visiting Terra.
