FinalFantasy VII - Status Effects
| Name | Condition | Cure |
| Berserk | Commands cannot be entered and the character continuously attacks the enemy. | Magic "Heal". |
| Confusion | The character becomes confused, attacks both allies as well as enemies. | Magic "Heal" or enemy or ally attacks the affected character. |
| Critical | HP levels are dangerously low. | Item "Potion" types or Magic "Restore" types. |
| Darkness | Character's vision is altered. Hit rate against enemies is decreased. | Item "Eye Drop" or Magic "Heal". |
| Death | HP drops to 0 and the character is unable to do anything. If all characters fall into this status the party is destroyed. | Item "Phoenix Down" or Magic "Revive" types. |
| Death Sentence | The character is condemned. A countdown begins, and at zero the character becomes dies. | You must end the battle before the countdown ends. |
| Frog | The character turns into a frog and the ability to attack and defend is decreased. Magic other than "Transform" cannot be entered. | Item "Maiden's Kiss" or Magic "Transform". |
| Fury | Doubles the damage incurred and causes the Limit gauge to fill faster. Hit rate against enemies is decreased. | Item "Tranquilizer"or Magic "Heal". |
| Sadness | Decreases the damage incurred and causes the Limit gauge to fill up slower. | Item "Hyper" or Magic "Esuna". |
| Silence | The character becomes unable to cast magic. | Item "Echo Screen" or Magic "Heal". |
| Sleep | You cannot enter any commands until the character wakes up. | Magic "Heal" or enemy or ally attacks the affected character. |
| Slow Numb | the character's body is gradually turned to stone. | Item "Soft" or Magic "Heal". |
| Small | The character's size is reduced and the ability to attack and defend is decreased. | Item "Cornucopia" or Magic "Transform". |
| Paralyzed | The character becomes paralyzed and commands cannot be entered. | Magic "Heal". |
| Petrify | the character is turned to stone, and commands cannot be entered. If all characters are turned to stone, the party is destroyed. | Item "Soft" or Magic "Heal". |
| Poison | HP decreases every turn. | Item "Antidote" or Magic "Heal". |
