Cloud is the main character of FF7. Growing up in Nibelheim, he had dreams of some day joining SOLDIER. So he made a promise to his child hood friend Tifa that he would go off and join SOLDIER, and that she would be able to read about him in the newspaper. So now years year later they meet up, but only now he's a mercenary, who as quit SOLDIER. Only thing is parts of his past are cloudy. So now in this time of turmoil involving the whole planet, he still has to figure everything about himself out.
