Final Fantasy XII - Gambit System

The gambit system is another new feature in Final Fantasy XII. Gambits allow your characters to perform pre-determined actions, of which can be disabled if you please. Gambit targets must be found around Ivalice, or bought at Gambit stores. Here is an example of a gambit:

Above is an example, that when equipped: if a character's HP is at less than 50%, the character equiped with this gambit will cure the damaged ally before taking any other actions. By double clicking a gambit, you can toggle it "ON" or "OFF". You can change it's priority by clicking it once, then moving up and down the list of gambits.

In the above, the red indicates that you are targetting a foe. Basically, if a foe is targeting your party's leader, the character equiped with this gambit will attack it. Here is a full gambit menu:

The numbers on the left indicate how important the gambit is. The lowert he number, the highert he priority. In this case, "Ally:HP < 50%" will be performed before any other action, if you have enough MP remaining to use the "Cure" spell. Also, the "Foe: HP > 50%" gambit has been turned "OFF", which is indicated by the gray colour, aswell as the "OFF" text.

You can turn off all gambits for any character, at any time, by opening the "command" menu and toggling "Gambits" "ON" or "OFF". While the Gambit's are turned "OFF", the character will only be able to perform action's selected by you.
